About Me
I am Nathan Morier, a student of NSCAD University, working toward my Bachelor of Design, major in Interdisciplinary Design.
As a web and graphic designer, I accomplish all my work with the adobe creative suite programs. My expertise are in Flash/Action Script, XHTML/CSS, Digital Illustration and Rendering, and Photo Manipulation.
I take special care in cross browser compliance, I even have the ability to make websites compliant with IE5/win. I have a love for web design with XHTML/CSS, but my passion is making websites in Flash, where my graphical skills can flow without restriction or boundaries.

Although I didn't design this website, I did do the programming. It is a highly modified wordpress blog, which allows the client to post upcoming events. There is also a page for online purchasing. I created a Flash based user guide so the client could use a particular design template for the entries, however the client has decided not to use that template.
In this project I was getting reacquainted with web programming, I sometimes use my website as a resource when making other websites. Since the creation of this website, I continue to learn even more.
The Scratch and Win series is a set of three action/comedy stick man cartoons that I've created with a mixture of both MS Paint, and Windows Movie Maker. The exception was the third installation, which I made with Illustrator, Photoshop, and Windows Movie Maker. At this website you can view all the videos, and you can also play Scratch and Win: The Game.
This video game is part of the Scratch and Win website. In this third person shooter you play as the protagonist, Ryan. You can shoot enemies, dodge bullets, and choose from a list of songs while you play the game.
For this project I created an MP3 player in Flash, complete with a volume controller. For the creation of this portfolio, I have extended the functionality of the MP3 player, allowing you to drag the tracking bar so that you can skip to different points in the song.
I designed this Flash based user guide for the Sobey Commerce website. It is thorough and comprehensive, demonstrating to the user how to make entries on the website with a design template. However the client has decided not to use the design template offered in the guide.
For this project I created a picture gallery in Flash. You can skip through the pictures one by one, or you can click on the picture you want enlarged. This gallery shows the process of making my Illustrated Controller.
I designed this poster for my brother's final recital. The songs he wrote were about Toronto and Halifax, which is why the cityscape in the poster is a mix of both Toronto and Halifax.
This controller is completely vector based, created in Illustrator. In this project I had to hand draw the inside and outside of an object I chose, trace those drawings in Illustrator, and then colour it to look as realistic as possible. You can view the different stages of this creation in Nathan Sifu's Vector Box.
I designed this logo for the Halifax Concert Band. The logo was actually stitched instead of printed. The stitched logo was used to display from music stands, and was applied to clothing for band members.
